The Matrice 600 (M600) flying platform, is designed for professional filmmakers and photographers. We use this platform for many of our projects and for many reasons. One it is capable of lifting up to 30 lbs. of equipment and when it comes to film/photos the camera options are limitless. This allows such applications of the Ronin-MX and the Lightbridge 2 transmission system which is capable of streaming 1080p at 60fps from distances of up to three miles. Also is a key platform when filming for LIVE broadcasts. The M600's solid functionality is also something that benefits the industrial clients looking to take on risky work such as surveying large structures and the maintenance of offshore rigs, construction sites, etc.

The Sony Alpha A9 is the flagship of full-frame mirrorless cameras. It features a 24MP stacked CMOS sensor which permits 20 fps burst shooting without the 'blackout' found on traditional DSLR's, courtesy of its electronic shutter. Its auto focus system has a total of 693 phase-detect points covering 93% of the image area and Eye AF. The A9 also has an ISO range of 50-204,800 when fully expanded and 14-bit uncompressed Raws can be saved.
The magnesium alloy body is weather-sealed, along with onboard 5-axis image stabilization.
The Sony A7 RIV has an updated 61MP Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor and enhanced BIONZ X image processor, which afford impressive imaging results with marked smoothness, a 15-stop dynamic range, and, of course, speed. Up to 10 fps shooting is possible along with the ability to record UHD 4K30 video, both with support for Real-time Eye AF and Tracking AF technologies. The revised sensor design uses a Fast Hybrid AF System, with 567 phase-detection autofocus points, for notably fast and accurate focusing performance. Despite being such a high-resolution sensor, it is also distinguished by its flexible native sensitivity range from ISO 100-32000 for working in a variety of lighting conditions. The Ronin-MX is a dual-use gimbal suitable both for mounting on the Matrice 600 aerial platform as well as deployment closer to the ground.
It features magnesium construction to yield high rigidity while keeping the weight down. It supports two-operator operation, and includes a radio controller (transmitter) for the camera operator, along with a Thumb Controller for solo operation. The Ronin MX can also be uses with jibs, car mounts, and various other types of camera support equipment.
Designed to resist high G-forces using powerful motors and IMUs, the Ronin-MX is engineered to maintain stability and hold horizon when mounted to our M600 aerial platform. When attached to vehicles, it connects to an optional GPS module that allows it to stabilize actively for a smoother shot.
A slip ring allows the Ronin-MX to rotate 360° continuously when mounted to platform or vehicles, opening up more creative options. This is further enhanced by an increase in tilt-axis range from 90° straight down and beyond to 135°. Smooth Track, is also present, giving film makers a range of creative angles and movements. It is also compatible with 'Connex', providing long-range HD video transmission from the air to the ground from up to 3.1 miles away.

Our video transmission in encrypted to help prevent eavesdropping. The transmitter can link to up to four receivers, for example allowing the pilot and camera operator to each have their own monitor, as well as monitors and broadcast feeds on the ground.
